South Carrick Community Leisure(SCCL) wish to invite applications for the above position for their new Leisure Centre, The Quay Zone at Girvan Harbour due to open in April 2017. This is a temporary post for a period of 12 to 18 months to oversee the transition from completion of the construction phase, to fully operational multi functional Community Leisure facility. During this transitional period SCCL envisage that the role will be more extensive than that of a Leisure Centre Manager, and as such the individual will require to demonstrate the following competencies.
Liaise with both South Ayrshire Council and Morrison Construction on behalf of the SCCL board, and report to the board and other stakeholders on progress, financial performance and strategy.
Work with SCCL Board to deliver Sports and Leisure services meeting its vision, values, and mission statement.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
Evidence a successful track record of proactively seeking out and obtaining additional funding opportunities in order to enhance equipment and infrastructure facilities for customers, and foster an inclusive working environment with a focus on community integration and involvement.
Manage a staff of approximately 20 including 3 duty managers, and help plan, implement and control staffing, operating times, pricing structure, rotas and seasonal schedules in accordance with business plan and budgetary requirements.
Assist in the interviewing, selection, induction and training of staff to required legal standard, and show the leadership that can quickly build a group of individuals into a team.
This position will have a starting salary of £25K per annum, and while flexible to accommodate a successful candidate is intended to start from 9th January 2017.
